The Paradise Centre

The Paradise Centre consists of two main areas, the indoor sports centre and the outdoor recreational grass area; the centre was built by East Cambridgeshire District Council, and opened in 1986 to provide the community of Ely and surrounding areas with a much needed sports facility.

The centre is not a local authority centre, although initially built by the council it was immediately handed over to a committee, made up of affiliated club representatives, users of the centre and the mandatory Councillors. The centre is a self-funding organisation and running costs must always come from centre revenue.
